运盈彩票官网 In Hong Kong, land supply is a key concern. To mitigate the issue, the government has announced the Lantau Tomorrow Vision: a two-phase 1,800-hectare reclamation area. The first phase aims to reach a population of 400,000 and create the third central business district with 340,000 jobs. We use an innovative integration of Structural Equation Model (SEM) and Artificial Neural Network (ANN) methods to assess and project resident and workplace levels from a multi-modal accessibility perspective. We leverage information from CBD1 and CBD2, proposed MTR design, and proposed public housing as the baseline to forecast the first phase of population and employment levels. The exploratory results show that both population and employment goals fail to be achieved. We then develop several scenarios by increasing transport infrastructure supply. The findings indicate that the employment goal can be hardly realized while the population goal should be attainable. Limitations and further research are considered.
About the Speaker
Dr. You ZHOU is an OBOR post-doctoral fellow in the Department of Urban Planning and Design at the University of Hong Kong. He previously studied and worked in the USDOT-funded Freight Policy Transportation Institute in Washington State. As a transportation economist, You has participated in a variety of interdisciplinary projects, including subnational commodity flow survey, estimating benefits of road improvement, and modelling infrastructure. At HKU, he is working with the OBOR research team to elaborate a transferable analytical framework from Hong Kong to other OBOR regions. The framework investigates the interactions and impacts of transport network configurations and resident/workplace spatial distribution.
